This has got be one of my favourite runway shows from Milan Fashion Week. I am a big big fan of 60's fashion, everything about sixties style I LOVE! I love the way BV have implemented bright colour, pretty florals,  bold accessories...the sixties written all over it!

The fashion industry has really amped up their design game beyond the routine of Fall/Winter & Summer/Spring collections. In order to compensate for heightened demands, labels have created Cruise or Resort collections for consumers in the market for new threads in between seasons. Among the crop of high fashion labels, Chanel is the highest caliber & this 2012 Resort season, that title is defended with excellence. Inspired by the 30's, Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld expresses & defines his love for fashion of the past, like many other seasons before. Revealed on the runway, which was set up on the French Riveriera at the Hotel du Cap, Lagerfeld describes the collection as "the other side of paradise". The palette is an extension of what we've seen for this season, with slight hints of milky pastel.  While the look book images we have here were shot by Lagerfeld in black & white, the collection hosts a number of tones including soft yellows, salmon pinks & egg-shelled whites with accents of flowing florals & black & white designs all at once. Vintage silhouettes, exaggerated design lines & hints of design modernization are seen as the Chanel signature birthed by Lagerfeld in our modern day remains perfectly intact. 

Royal Wedding: All things British

The lace appliqué for the bodice and skirt was hand-made by the Royal School of Needlework, based at Hampton Court Palace. The lace design was hand-engineered (appliquéd) using the Carrickmacross lace-making technique, which originated in Ireland in the 1820s. Individual flowers have been hand-cut from lace and hand-engineered onto ivory silk tulle to create a unique and organic design, which incorporates the rose, thistle, daffodil and shamrock. 

Hand-cut English lace and French Chantilly lace has been used throughout the bodice and skirt, and has been used for the underskirt trim. With laces coming from different sources, much care was taken to ensure that each flower was the same colour. The whole process was overseen and put together by hand by Ms Burton and her team. A royal wedding cannot be royal without a lavish, extravagant bridal dress. Princess Catherine, formerly known as Kate Middleton really did wow the nation. Her wedding gown was not the only beautiful element about her on the wedding day. It was her elegance, beauty and modest demeanour. All things British!

Chic, pure and feminine. The spring/summer Donna Karen campaign creates a warm palette. Donna introduces her signature draped gowns which showcases glamour and softened sophistication. I love the shades of honey, tan and saffron. The collection is named ‘Raw Romance’ and it fits in with collection. The pieces are beautiful and have sensual qualities.   

Kate Moss for Longchamp

Supermodel Kate Moss’s latest design collaboration with Longchamp will be hitting retail stores soon. So chic, colours are classical and the leather looks fantastic. I like the mixture of colours, blues and leopards mix well. You can see Kate’s style of dress through this collection, vintage and bohemian.
